• These mini fruit bat carvings are hand carved in Peru and measure around 1.5″ in size. Because of the nature of soapstone, each little guy will vary in appearance and coloration.
• Soapstone, also known as Soaprock or Steatite, is a type of metamorphic rock. It is largely composed of the mineral talc and is thus rich in magnesium
• It is produced by dynamo-thermal metamorphism and metasomatism, which occurs in the areas where tectonic plates are subducted, changing rocks by heat and pressure, with influx of fluids, but without melting. It has been a medium for carving for thousands of years
• These are carved from real soapstone so variations in color and pattern should be expected
• You will receive one fruit bat carving similar to the reference specimens
• Approximately 1.5″ tall, 1″ wide and roughly .5″ deep measured from the longest points
