Description

• Carnelian is a glassy, translucent stone that varies in color from pale pinkish-orange to a deep rusty brown. Carnelian is an orange-colored variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Its name comes from a Latin word meaning “flesh”
• Carnelian is the red, orange, or amber variety of Chalcedony. Though often a solid color, it may also be banded, in which case it is jointly classified as both Agate and Carnelian. Variations in shape, color and pattern should be expected. May have geode crevices, inclusions or other minor imperfections
• Carnelian differs from Jasper in that Jasper will always be opaque, whereas Carnelian is translucent. Carnelian may be nearly opaque but will still let light through when viewed from the edges
• You will receive the carnelian crystal spheres in the reference images. Enlarged image included to show detail, images may not be to scale
• Approximately 2.5-3″ in diameter
