This real Taxidermy Skull is of an African Springbok. Springboks are a medium-sized brown and white antelope-gazelle of southwestern Africa. They are known to be extremely fast and can reach speeds of up to 60 mph and can leap a whopping 13 feet in the air. The springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) derives its name from the Afrikaans and Dutch words “spring” or jump, and “bok” or a male antelope. It is the national animal of South Africa and occur in numbers of up to 2,500,000 making it is the most plentiful antelope.
These springbok skulls with horns vary in size from animal to animal and will range from 14″ to 16″ measured at the longest points. They are great for rustic cabin decor and are great conversation pieces.
Please keep in mind that these are not replicas and will therefore have natural imperfections such as battle scars and blemishes. No two skull plates will be identical, and not all skulls stand perfectly on their own. The horns sit on the skull and are shipped separately to ensure they arrive safely.
